SPECIAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Human Resources Board Committee Member

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Board Committee Member who shares our passion for improving access to health care and increasing the years of healthy life in the communities and patients we serve. This volunteer position will attend HR Board Committee meetings to advise and provide insight on HR topics discussed. The meetings are held quarterly at ICHC’s Bellingham office and last approximately two hours; additional meetings may be held if necessary. This volunteer position is appointed by the Board of Directors at the recommendation of the HR Board Committee Chairperson who will screen candidates. The purpose of the HR Board Committee is described in the committee charter that can be viewed upon request.

The ideal volunteer will possess the following:

• A degree in human resources or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Experience in a variety of HR areas including recruitment, employee relations, and administration of policies, compensation and benefits.

• Knowledge of federal, state and local HR laws.

• Knowledge of current principles and practices of human resource management,

• Experience in a health care setting a plus.

• PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
