Pharmacy and Prescriptions

ICHC accepts all major medical prescription coverage, and works with all local pharmacies. If you have insurance, the pharmacy can tell you if your prescription will be covered. If you do not have insurance we have a number of programs to assist you.

Hoagland Pharmacy Partnership

ICHC has a federal contract that allows us to buy medications at low prices and pass the savings on to uninsured patients. These low cost prescriptions are available only at Hoagland Pharmacy.
If you have commercial insurance please use Hoagland Pharmacy for all your ICHC prescriptions. You will pay the same out of pocket expenses at any pharmacy you use, but when you fill an ICHC prescription at Hoagland Pharmacy, you support our programs for uninsured patients.

Patient Assistance Program (PAP)

Some pharmaceutical companies have “Patient Assistance Programs.” They provide free medications for low-income patients without insurance. Our staff can help you apply for these programs.
If you meet the company’s requirements, your medication will be mailed to ICHC. We will contact you and set up an appointment for you to pick up your medication. Please be sure to come at that time or you may have to wait.

Sample Medications

Occasionally sample medications are available for patients waiting for prescriptions from the Patient Assistance Program. Samples will only be given during an appointment with your PCP. They are not available for long term use.

Prescription Refills

  • Call the pharmacy you want to use, not ICHC, for refills at least three (3) days before you are out of medication. (Hoagland Pharmacy 360-734-5413).
  • Refills that are called in on Friday may not be filled until the following Monday or Tuesday.
  • Please do not call ICHC for your refill – we will ask you to phone the pharmacy.
  • Please do not come to the health center without an appointment for a prescription refill – our schedule is usually booked with other patients.
  • If the prescription has expired or there are any concerns about the refill the pharmacy will fax ICHC.
  • If you call the pharmacy more than once for the same refill they will send us another fax—this will only slow down the refill process.
