Getting to Your Appointment

There are a number of options for getting transportation to ICHC. Bike racks are available too.

Patients with Medicaid Coverage

If you have Medicaid, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) will pay for your transportation to get you to and from ICHC appointments. They may also help pay for gas or cost of driving.

Whatcom Transit Authority (WTA) Bus Service

There are many bus stops near ICHC:

  • WTA Bus Terminal – 3 blocks southeast of ICHC on Railroad Ave. between E. Champion and Commercial.
  • Bus Stop – 2 blocks south of ICHC at the corner of W. Champion and Unity.
  • Bus Stop – 2 blocks east of the clinic on Cornwall and York.

WTA Specialized Transportation

Specialized Transportation is provided to people who are unable to use the fixed route bus system because of a disability. WTA will pick you up and take you to your destination.

You must complete an application for the program. Call WTA at 360-733-1144 (Voice or TTY) to get an application. Once you return the application WTA will notify you within 21 days (3 weeks) to tell you if you may use the program.
