Bob has a strong business and financial background and community service experience with the Interfaith Coalition, Visiting Nurses Foundation, Rotary Club, Civil Service Commission, and church affiliations.
Dr. Fairbanks has been a dentist in private practice for over 25 years in Bellingham. He is a participant in community activities including Boy Scouts, the Children's Museum Board, the Bellingham Technical College Dental Clinic, United Way, and a volunteer dentist at Interfaith Community Health Center.
Jon is employed at the Opportunity Council as the Development Manager in the Energy and Home Repair Division. Jon has worked for the past thirty years in non-profit Community Action Agencies in a variety of positions, mostly focused on developing and rehabilitating housing for low-income individuals and families. Ensuring access to quality affordable health care is one of his interests.
Mike is a retired marketing manager from Kraft Foods, Inc. As a Bellingham native, Mike has been involved in the local community in a variety of areas. He has served as an officer and/or board member of Interfaith Coalition, WWU Alumni Association, Whatcom County Youth Soccer Association, Bellingham Dollars for Scholars, and the City of Bellingham Board of Adjustments and Landmark Review. Currently, Mike is the President of Whatcom Volunteer Center, Vice President of Faith Lutheran Church Council, and participates as a judge at state conferences for Future Business Leaders of America and DECA Marketing Association, as well as with the Bellingham School Districts Culminating Project.
In addition to being a medical patient of ICHC, he is a writer, teacher, and consultant in project management and systems development. As president and CEO of Opus Magnum Inc., he provided services to many of the fortune 500 and major corporations worldwide. He served as a volunteer on the board of CIPS (Canadian Information Processing Society) and the Calgary Winter Olympic Games. Recently, he worked as a volunteer project manager for the development of the Point Roberts Wellness Clinic.
Hal's professional history includes theatre (all phases), photography, writing and, like most starving artists, a lot of part-time jobs. He is currently loving his work with the developmentally disabled and hopes his previous professions return as hobbies.
Having earned a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Sciences with an emphasis in Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management from Utah State University, Jennifer has worked to manage food service within a hospital environment. A patient at ICHC, Jennifer is retired from management in the food service industry. She has volunteered for PTAs in art, foreign language programs organization, event planning, and financial committees, including holding the post of treasurer. She is an active participant in many Bellingham community activities.
John is a retired systems engineer who's an advocate for programs that serve the 'common good'. He believes that emotional, mental, and physical well-being is essential to a wholesome society. To achieve this, access to health care, education, and an excellent environment for all its members is important. John is proud to be on the Board of Directors because the organization reflects his values.
Bryant is a patient at ICHC and is currently working on his master's degree in geography at Western Washington University. He is interested in community development and has volunteered at the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center and the Whatcom Literacy Council.
Ron has an engineering background with a business administration degree and project management experience. He's an EMT volunteer for the local Fire District and has performed program planning and evaluation for the local technical school.
Sarah is a patient of ICHC. She is a graduate of Western Washington University with a double major in Political Science and Spanish. She has volunteered at Planned Parenthood and the Bellingham Food Bank. Sarah is currently a nursing student and is employed by the City of Bellingham as a recreational instructor.
Susan has been an adult mental health counselor for over 30 years. She's been involved with community service as a former board member of Whatcom Crisis Services Center, Interfaith Coalition, and Coalition for Healthy Communities. She also served on personnel and mission and social justice committees for a local congregation. Additionally, she's been a partnership member of the mental health program for ICHC since the program's inception.
